modern . functional . hand blown glass.
Sandpiper Studio is a small scale production and design studio specializing in hand blown glass. Located in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia, Canada, Sandpiper Studio was founded in 2009 by Gordon and Julie Webster. From glassware to custom light installations, it is our intent to carry forward glass making traditions and techniques with modern aesthetics and sensibilities in order to produce meaningful and functional objects that resonate in our daily lives.
Gordon Webster was born in Calgary Alberta in 1978. In 2001 he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (glass major) from the Alberta College of Art and Design. After graduation, Gordon worked at several glass studios across Canada. In 2002, Gordon was accepted into Toronto's Harbourfront Centre where he completed a 3 year artist in residency program. For the past 15 years Gordon has been developing his unique approach to working with glass sculpturally. His large scale, botanical influenced work has been exhibited throughout Canada and the United States. To view the sculptural work of Gordon Webster please visit gordon-webster.ca.
